At Johns Hopkins Health Plans and Priority Partners, we know that health and well-being are about more than just doctor visits. Where people live, whether they have enough food and if they can get around safely all play key roles in overall health. Our $20,000 grant to Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County is an example of one of the many ways we work to achieve a healthier future for the communities we serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In July 2024, we awarded Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County a grant of $20,000 to support Aging in Place, a program that helps seniors stay in their homes safely. The program focuses on making needed repairs such as fixing roofs, addressing safety issues and making changes that help seniors move around their homes more easily so they can continue to live independently in the homes they love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Making a Big Difference in Wicomico County<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Here\u2019s what our grant helped to accomplish through June 2025:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe $20,000 gift from Johns Hopkins Health Plans has helped Habitat for Humanity serve more senior homeowners with critical repairs and aging in place modifications,\u201d said Molly Hilligoss, President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County. \u201cHaving such a strong partnership with a renowned health care organization means increased community and donor trust and has allowed us to greatly increase our impact on the growing needs of this vulnerable population.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Building Healthier Communities Together<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Taking on the challenges that many of our members face every day \u2014 like safe housing, financial stability and access to resources \u2014 is key to helping our communities achieve their best health.
